A walk through the weekend

Day 1 – Arrival & Welcome

Upon arriving in Oaxaca, a dedicated driver will meet you at the airport and escort you to your accommodation. After settling in, we’ll come together for a relaxed evening of welcome cocktails, live music, and dinner at Pocoapoco—a chance to connect, unwind, and ease into the rhythm of the weekend.

Day 2

We’ll start Thursday with breakfast before heading out for an intimate tour of local studios. You’ll meet some of Oaxaca’s most compelling contemporary artists—sculptors, painters, and printmakers—who’ve been close collaborators with Pocoapoco over the years.

Midday, we’ll stop for a private lunch at the home of a local architect.

In the evening, we’ll be welcomed into a historic Ex-Hacienda known for its commitment to craft and design. Sip cocktails on the open-air patio before settling in for a short film screening, followed by a conversation with the filmmakers and a thoughtfully prepared dinner by Chef Fred Jimenez.

Day 3

Friday begins with a journey to El Centro de las Artes San Agustín, a former textile factory turned world-class art center. From there, we’ll visit the private studio of a former resident & textile artist whose work bridges contemporary art, craft, and fashion.

Lunch will be an intimate gathering at the home of Chef Gerardo Aguilar and Pastry Chef Kristen Leahy, featuring a seasonal menu inspired by local ingredients and traditions.

In the afternoon, we return to Pocoapoco for a special pop-up shop—a chance to explore and collect one-of-a-kind pieces from our favorite artists, designers, and artisans. We’ll end the day with dinner at our friends’ restaurant, Adama.

Day 4

Saturday invites you into your own creative process with a hands-on workshop led by a local artist.

The afternoon is yours to explore: we’ll offer a menu of personalized visits and activities based on your interests—from gallery visits to artisan studios or time to simply wander.

At sunset, we’ll gather at a private gallery for an exclusive performance, followed by a celebratory closing evening.

Day 5

We’ll come together one last time for a farewell breakfast at Pocoapoco before departures. Airport transportation will be arranged for all guests.

IMPACT

Pocoapoco is a small but catalytic arts organization in Oaxaca that brings together local and international artists, cultural workers & creatives—particularly from Mexico and the U.S.—to foster cross-cultural understanding through residencies, workshops, and public programming. We work with both emerging voices and establised artists, focusing on projects with deep social impact.

Your participation invests in creative work and cultural infrastructure at the grassroots level— a scale where your support really matters. Our programs reach hundreds each year, planting the seeds for the future of local and global cultural collaboration.

  • 200+ artists and cultural workers supported annually

  • 3,000+ engaged through public programs

  • Programs rooted in authentic relationships, innovative cross-border work, and a commitment to exploring complex social issues through interdisciplinary collaboration and creative inquiry.
