Espartaco Martínez

Espartaco Martínez is an actor and creator trained at La Casa del Teatro, with an international career across Japan, Germany, France, Switzerland, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, the USA, and Korea. Drawing from masters such as Peter Schumann, Finzi Pasca, Maro Akaji, and Anton Adasinsky, he explores dance, clown, and butoh as languages of resistance. His works include La Bestia, Inhumano, and The Heart Sutra, and he has collaborated with artists like Romeo Castellucci and Daisuke Yoshimoto. He has taught at Joshibi University in Tokyo and served as cultural advisor for Conafe in Mexico. Author of Bitácora de Oriente and Dejarse ir, he also created the film Journey to the Land of the Tarahumaras, combining creation and pedagogy in a nomadic, oracular theater.
