Parsons Scholars Program Alumni Residency with The New School

Since 2024, Pocoapoco has been collaborating with Parsons Scholars Program to create a all-expenses paid residency for their alumni to engage in immersive dialogue and hands-on creative practices led by a multidisciplinary group of former Pocoapoco residents, both in Oaxaca and New York.

Participants will take part in studio visits, collaborative workshops, and shared meals that foster meaningful connection and daily reflection, with the following goals:

  • Build community by reconnecting with the PSP community and meeting local multidisciplinary practitioners.

  • Experience generous examples of thriving in the arts within a context that decenters structures grounded in white supremacy and foregrounds community building.

  • Experience learning within a rhythm that creates space for reflection and recognizes that our connection with our surroundings is critical and political

  • Learn from expansive models of making significant societal impact through creative practice and/or community in which the social, artistic, cultural and political contexts are interconnected

  • Experiment with collective making.
